An Evening With James Blake

Join us Tuesday, August 19th and meet the #8 ranked tennis player in the world - James Blake. Between returning from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and beginning the 2008 US Open in NYC James will take one evening to meet fans, discuss tennis, and enjoy an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction to benefit TBB.

The TBB 2008-2009 Program Group is Full

We were impressed by the number of high-caliber applications we received this year. The pool of students was simply outstanding, representing all regions of the country and incredibly diverse interests and achievements. We will begin accepting applications for the 2009-2010 program October 1, 2008. Due to the high volume of interest, we strongly recommend applying early.

Coming to a School Near You

Chris, Sandy, and Robin traveled extensively throughout the US this past year introducing students, parents, guidance counselors, and school administrators to Thinking Beyond Borders. With visits to over 100 high schools and appearances at 10 Gap Year fairs, response to the program has been overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic. If you would like TBB to visit your school or youth leadership organization, please contact Chris Stakich at chris@thinkingbeyondborders.org.

Cleveland Marathon, Half Marathon, & 10K

Thinking Beyond Borders partnered with the Cleveland Marathon in an effort to raise money for a student scholarship. In total, 40 participants joined the team to run or walk in the race, 190 people donated, and a total of $16,780 was raised! TBB will be making the Cleveland Marathon an annual fundraiser, so please add it to your 2009 calendar. For this year, THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the race and fundraised for TBB, as well as to all of you who donated to support a student to go on the program.
